Lyon Dynasty is off to a rocky start.
After the failed takeover, Cookie decides to start her own empire (little e). At first glance, it seems like she has the advantage because she the legal brains behind Empire, Andre and the rapping talent, Hakeem.
But with talent comes youthful impetuousness. Hakeem is stuck on creating the best girl group since Beyoncé and Destiny Child. His fixation nearly costs Cookie one of her biggest talents, Tiana.
At least Hakeem is excited for his mother’s newest venture.
Andre, on the other hand, is miserable. He’s worked most of his life to build up Empire and now he’s been tossed out on the street. He tries to make the best of a bad situation, but when Hakeem foolishly leaks his unreleased Empire album online, Andre is out the door.
Andre is determined to get his job back.
Lucious, however, is unwilling to forgive those who backstabbed him.
At the end of the episode, only Cookie and Hakeem are left in Lyon Dynasty.
Sadly, more hard times are ahead.
Lucious switches lawyers and retains a streetwise attorney named Thirsty Rawlings who helps Lucious drop a prison gridiron track and get out on bail.
By the previews, Lucious is going to hungrier than ever once he’s on the outside.
